Technical Solutions for Urban Challenges: BBMP and Educational Institutions Discuss Collaborative Approach

With the objective of identifying scientific and technology-driven solutions to urban infrastructure, traffic congestion, and environmental challenges, the South Zone Commissioner of the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike, K. N. Ramesh, visited RV Teachers College today and held detailed discussions with academic experts.

On behalf of the RV Educational Institutions, Syed Shameer, Registrar of the National Education Society Trust, warmly welcomed the Commissioner and introduced the principals and heads of departments from various institutions.

Discussion on Key Urban Challenges

During the interaction, the Commissioner highlighted several critical issues faced by the rapidly growing city of Bengaluru, including:

• Urban development and city planning

• Solid waste management

• Traffic congestion and parking planning

• Stormwater drains and rajakaluve-related issues

• Public health and urban landscaping

Addressing the gathering, the Commissioner stated:

“Urban development cannot be achieved by the administration alone. Sustainable solutions are possible only when the technical expertise and research capabilities of educational institutions work in close coordination with local governance.”

Commitment from Educational Institutions

Senior faculty members and heads of departments from fields such as Information Technology, Architecture, and Urban Planning shared their insights and experiences.
They emphasized that RV Educational Institutions and their student community have previously collaborated with public bodies, including the police department, and expressed their continued commitment to contribute to the city’s development.

However, they also stressed the need for a structured platform that enables direct engagement with local government authorities to discuss, test, and implement research-based solutions.

Platform for BBMP–Academic Coordination

Recognizing the vital role of youth and academic expertise in urban progress, it was proposed that teams of departmental heads from educational institutions and senior officials from the South Zone of BBMP conduct regular virtual meetings.
These interactions aim to develop practical, research-oriented solutions to address Bengaluru’s ongoing urban challenges.

ನಗರದ ಮೂಲಸೌಕರ್ಯ, ಸಂಚಾರ ದಟ್ಟಣೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಪರಿಸರ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಗಳಿಗೆ ವೈಜ್ಞಾನಿಕ ಮತ್ತು ತಾಂತ್ರಿಕ ಪರಿಹಾರಗಳನ್ನು ಕಂಡುಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಉದ್ದೇಶದಿಂದ ಬೃಹತ್ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ಮಹಾನಗರ ಪಾಲಿಕೆ ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ವಲಯದ ಆಯುಕ್ತರಾದ ಕೆ. ಎನ್. ರಮೇಶ್ ಅವರು ಇಂದು ಆರ್‌ವಿ ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರ ಕಾಲೇಜು ಗೆ ಭೇಟಿ ನೀಡಿ ಮಹತ್ವದ ಚರ್ಚೆ ನಡೆಸಿದರು.

ಆರ್‌ವಿ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಸಮೂಹ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳ ಪರವಾಗಿ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಸಮಿತಿ ಟ್ರಸ್ಟಿನ ರಿಜಿಸ್ಟ್ರಾರ್ ಸೈಯದ್ ಶಾಮೀರ್ ಅವರು ಆಯುಕ್ತರನ್ನು ಆತ್ಮೀಯವಾಗಿ ಸ್ವಾಗತಿಸಿದರು. ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ವಿವಿಧ ಕಾಲೇಜುಗಳ ಪ್ರಾಂಶುಪಾಲರು ಹಾಗೂ ವಿಭಾಗ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥರನ್ನು ಪರಿಚಯಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.

ನಗರದ ಸವಾಲುಗಳ ಕುರಿತು ಚರ್ಚೆ

ಸಭೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ನಗರ ಎದುರಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಗಳ ಕುರಿತು ಸುದೀರ್ಘವಾಗಿ ಚರ್ಚಿಸಲಾಯಿತು:

• ನಗರಾಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಮತ್ತು ನಗರ ಯೋಜನೆ (Urban Planning)

• ಘನ ತ್ಯಾಜ್ಯ ನಿರ್ವಹಣೆ (Solid Waste Management)

• ಸಂಚಾರ ದಟ್ಟಣೆ ಮತ್ತು ಪಾರ್ಕಿಂಗ್ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆ

• ರಾಜಕಾಲುವೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಮಳೆನೀರು ಚರಂಡಿ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಗಳು

• ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ಭೂ ವಿನ್ಯಾಸ (Landscaping)

ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಯುಕ್ತರು,

“ನಗರದ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಕೇವಲ ಆಡಳಿತದಿಂದ ಮಾತ್ರ ಸಾಧ್ಯವಲ್ಲ. ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳ ತಾಂತ್ರಿಕ ಪರಿಣಿತಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಂಶೋಧನೆಗಳು ಸ್ಥಳೀಯ ಆಡಳಿತದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಕೈಜೋಡಿಸಿದಾಗ ಶಾಶ್ವತ ಪರಿಹಾರ ಸಾಧ್ಯ,” ಎಂದು ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯಪಟ್ಟರು.

ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳ ಪಾತ್ರ

ಮಾಹಿತಿ ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನ, ಆರ್ಕಿಟೆಕ್ಚರ್, ನಗರ ಯೋಜನೆ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ವಿವಿಧ ವಿಭಾಗಗಳ ಹಿರಿಯ ಪ್ರಾಧ್ಯಾಪಕರು ತಮ್ಮ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯಗಳನ್ನು ಹಂಚಿಕೊಂಡರು.
ಸ್ಥಳೀಯ ಸರ್ಕಾರದೊಂದಿಗೆ ನೇರ ಸಂಪರ್ಕ ಸಾಧಿಸಲು ಮತ್ತು ಸಂಶೋಧನಾ ಆಧಾರಿತ ಸಲಹೆಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರಯೋಗಾತ್ಮಕವಾಗಿ ಜಾರಿಗೆ ತರಲು ಒಂದು ಸೂಕ್ತ ಸಂಯೋಜನಾ ವೇದಿಕೆ ಅಗತ್ಯವಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಅವರು ಗಮನಕ್ಕೆ ತಂದರು.

ಭವಿಷ್ಯದ ಸಹಕಾರ

ನಗರದ ಪ್ರಗತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಯುವಶಕ್ತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳ ಪಾತ್ರ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಮಹತ್ವದ್ದು.
ಈ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳ ವಿಭಾಗ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥರುಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ವಲಯದ ಹಿರಿಯ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ನಿಯಮಿತವಾಗಿ ವರ್ಚುಯಲ್ ಸಭೆಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ ಚರ್ಚೆ ನಡೆಸಿ, ನಗರ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಾಯೋಗಿಕ ಪರಿಹಾರಗಳನ್ನು ಕಂಡುಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಸಹಕಾರ ನೀಡುವಂತೆ ಕರೆ ನೀಡಲಾಯಿತು.
