Strict Instructions Issued for Monsoon Drain Desilting and Road Works Completion in Bengaluru Central City

Bengaluru Central City Corporation Commissioner Rajendra Cholan has directed engineering officials to expedite drain desilting, footpath development, road works, and stormwater drain maintenance ahead of the monsoon season. The instructions were issued under the Chief Minister’s Special Development Scheme and other special development initiatives across six Assembly constituencies within the corporation limits.

• The civic works are being carried out in the following constituencies under Bengaluru Central City Corporation:

C.V. Raman Nagar

• Shanthinagar

• Chickpet

• Chamrajapet

• Gandhinagar

• Shivajinagar

• Ongoing works include:

Drain desilting

• Footpath development

• Road development

• Stormwater drain cleaning

• Asphalt road works

• CC road completion

• Officials have been instructed to ensure smooth flow of rainwater by removing accumulated silt and waste from drains and stormwater channels to prevent flooding and waterlogging during heavy rains.

• The Forest Department officials have also been directed to:

Immediately clear fallen trees and branches during rain and wind

• Deploy skilled staff and necessary equipment for emergency response

• Commissioner Rajendra Cholan instructed officials to:

Speed up ongoing road asphalting works

• Complete CC road projects

• Prevent pothole formation during the monsoon

• Fill potholes immediately wherever required
