SIR Progress Review Meeting Held in Bengaluru North City Corporation

The Bengaluru North City Corporation (BNCC) conducted a review meeting on the progress of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, urging voters to submit their Enumeration Forms at the earliest. The meeting also focused on improving coordination with political parties and ensuring transparency in the revision process.

Key Details:

• The meeting was chaired by Shri Pommala Sunil Kumar, Additional District Election Officer (North) and Commissioner, Bengaluru North City Corporation.

• Officials reported that 78–79% of the Enumeration Form distribution has been completed and directed field staff to finish the remaining work within the prescribed timeline.

• Mapped voter data is available through the BLO App, and Booth Level Officers (BLOs) have been instructed to rectify any omissions or errors identified.

• Political party representatives requested daily progress reports, including updates on Absent, Shifted, Dead and Duplicate (ASDD) voters. The Commissioner directed officials to provide these updates regularly.

• The Commissioner emphasized that even minor errors in the SIR process could affect electoral roll accuracy and called for vigilance from both officials and political parties.

• Representatives suggested maintaining a 10% reserve pool of Booth Level Officers (BLOs) in every Assembly Constituency to support uninterrupted field operations.

• Voters requiring assistance can receive help in filling Enumeration Forms at Voter Facilitation Centres (VFCs).

• Officials were instructed to facilitate field visits for political party representatives to observe SIR activities on the ground.

• The Commissioner also stressed the importance of cooperation from Booth Level Agents (BLAs) for the successful completion of the revision exercise.

• Officials from various Assembly Constituencies presented progress reports and shared field experiences, while political party representatives offered suggestions to improve implementation.

• Considering the large number of voters within BNCC limits, voters were urged to submit completed Enumeration Forms to BLOs during their household visits.
