SIR Awareness Campaign Intensified Through Waste Collection Auto-Tippers

The Bengaluru Central City Corporation has intensified its Special Intensive Revision (SIR) voter list campaign by using door-to-door waste collection auto-tippers to broadcast public awareness messages. Commissioner Jagadish G has directed Booth Level Officers (BLOs) to expedite the distribution, collection, and digitization of enumeration forms to achieve 100% completion.

Key Details;

• The corporation has launched an audio awareness campaign through waste collection auto-tippers to encourage residents to promptly complete and return SIR enumeration forms.

• Revenue department staff are also conducting public announcements in residential areas using microphones.

• Commissioner Jagadish G is holding 4–5 video conference review meetings daily with Returning Officers (ROs), Assistant Returning Officers (AROs), and other officials to monitor SIR progress.

• BLOs have been instructed to ensure timely distribution, collection, and digitization of enumeration forms.

• Digitization facilities have been arranged at Voter Facilitation Centres (VFCs).

• Citizens are being informed that delays in returning enumeration forms may affect timely digitization and inclusion in the draft electoral roll.

• Officials have been advised to create awareness that voters whose names are omitted from the draft roll due to non-submission of forms can apply for inclusion through Form 6.

• Political parties and Booth Level Agents (BLAs) are also being requested to encourage voters to submit completed forms.

• The Commissioner directed officials to take strict action against anyone obstructing BLOs and against staff failing to discharge their duties responsibly.
