Road Repair Work Begins on Bannerghatta Road, 1.5 km Stretch Prioritized

Bengaluru South Corporation has initiated urgent road repair and asphalting work on Bannerghatta Road following public complaints about severe road damage caused by underground pipeline works.

Key Details:

• Road damage was caused by BWSSB underground drainage pipeline work

• Bannerghatta Road surface had deteriorated, leading to dust and potholes

• Public complaints and media reports prompted inspection by officials

• Commissioner K. N. Ramesh conducted a site visit and ordered immediate action

• Initial repair covers approximately 1.5 km of the most damaged stretch

• Around 1 km stretch from Kalyani Choultry to IIMB Metro Station already asphalted

• Remaining work expected to be completed by the following night

• Objective: Improve commuter safety and ensure smoother traffic flow
