Bengaluru West City Corporation conducted a review meeting on rain preparedness and ward-level civic issues in the Mahalakshmi Layout Assembly Constituency. Commissioner Dr. Rajendra K.V. directed officials to take preventive measures to avoid public inconvenience during the monsoon and improve civic infrastructure.

  • Officials were also directed to organize e-Khata Melas to help citizens obtain e-Khata services easily.

Streetlight Maintenance

  • Streetlights must be installed in required locations and maintained properly to ensure public safety and convenience.

Park Maintenance

  • Parks within the corporation jurisdiction must be properly maintained to provide citizen-friendly spaces.

Removal of Dangerous Trees

  • Forest department officials were directed to identify and remove dangerous trees and branches before the monsoon season to prevent accidents.

Blackspot Removal and Waste Management

  • Health officers and AGMs must prepare planned action strategies for solid waste management.
  • Under the supervision of Health Inspectors and Supervisors, garbage blackspots must be completely cleared and prevented from recurring.
  • Preventive disinfectant spraying must also be conducted in affected areas.

Infrastructure and Road Safety

  • Authorities must strengthen road safety measures and ensure the provision of essential civic infrastructure for residents.

Action Against Dumping in Vacant Sites

  • Individuals dumping waste in vacant plots must be identified and penalised.
  • Officials were also instructed to create public awareness on maintaining cleanliness.

Additional Instructions Issued

  • Repair damaged park equipment and identify dried plants for maintenance.
  • Identify and prune dangerous roadside trees and branches, and clean the surrounding area.
  • Accelerate cleaning of stormwater drains (Rajakaluves) as part of rain preparedness measures.
  • Ensure proper installation and maintenance of streetlights along roads.
