Pre-Monsoon Drain Desilting Works Accelerated Across Bengaluru East

Bengaluru East City Corporation Commissioner D.S. Ramesh inspected ongoing pre-monsoon infrastructure and storm water drain maintenance works across multiple areas and directed officials to speed up desilting and complete pending works before the monsoon season.

Key Details:

• Commissioner D.S. Ramesh inspected railway vent works at Geddalahalli.

• One concrete box pushing work has been completed as planned.

• Officials were instructed to complete remaining works before May 30, 2026.

• Storm water drain desilting and cleaning works were reviewed in:

Vignananagara

• Ramamurthy Nagara

• Kalkere

• Directions were issued to remove silt, debris, mud, and vegetation from drains on priority.

• Officials were instructed to ensure uninterrupted connectivity between primary, secondary, and tertiary drains.

• The Corporation directed strict action against dumping waste into storm water drains and roadside drains.

• Additional monitoring and marshals will be deployed at identified black spots to prevent waste accumulation.

• Safety precautions at work sites were also emphasized to avoid inconvenience to the public.
