LED Street Light Replacement Project Underway Across Wards of Bengaluru North City Corporation

Bengaluru North City Corporation has initiated a project to replace conventional street lights with energy-efficient LED lights across its wards. The initiative, implemented under a Public Private Partnership model, aims to reduce electricity consumption and improve street lighting infrastructure.

• The project is being implemented across all wards under Bengaluru North City Corporation (BNCC).

• It involves replacing conventional street lights with energy-efficient LED lights.

• The initiative is being executed after government approval and tendering under the PPP model.

• Implementation is being carried out by the Electrical Division under the Executive Engineer (Electrical).

• Total street lights in BNCC jurisdiction: 124,591

Non-LED lights: 64,898

• Existing LED lights: 59,693

• LED lights installed under the new project: 37,257

• Project completion status: Approximately 55% completed.

• The remaining work is currently in progress and expected to be completed soon.

Jurisdiction Update

• Three wards from Rajarajeshwari Nagar Assembly constituency have been added to BNCC jurisdiction.

• Five wards from Dasarahalli Assembly constituency (previously four wards) have also been added.
