Karnataka Simplifies CLU Process for Industrial Projects Approved Through Udyoga Mitra

The Government of Karnataka has issued a Government Order dated 06 July 2026 to simplify the Change of Land Use (CLU) process for industrial development proposals approved through Karnataka Udyoga Mitra / Single Window System. The order introduces fixed timelines for planning authorities and the Government to reduce procedural delays and facilitate industrial investment.

Key Details:

• Industrial projects that receive in-principle approval through Karnataka Udyoga Mitra will follow an expedited CLU process.

• The concerned Planning Authority must process the CLU proposal within 45 days from the date of receiving the application.

• The Planning Authority must complete the technical scrutiny within 15 days.

• If the proposal is found technically unsuitable, it must be rejected within the 15-day period, and Karnataka Udyoga Mitra must be informed.

• The order aims to improve the ease of doing business by establishing clear timelines for CLU approvals.
