Karnataka Signs SOI for Bengaluru Metropolitan Region Economic Masterplan

The Government of Karnataka has signed a Statement of Intent (SOI) with ISEG Foundation to develop a comprehensive Economic Masterplan for the Bengaluru Metropolitan Region (BMR), targeting long-term growth, infrastructure, and sustainability goals up to 2037.

• Masterplan will cover economy, infrastructure, liveability, and sustainability

Economic benchmarking against global city-regions

• Identification of key growth sectors

• 6–8 high-impact investment interventions per theme

• Phased implementation roadmap with financing and governance structure

Covers over 8,000 sq km

• Quarterly reviews to be conducted by Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister
