Central Corporation Commissioner Rajendra Cholaan inspected multiple civic infrastructure projects including the Indira Community Kitchen in Vasanth Nagar, MG Road resurfacing works, Mahatma Gandhi Park redevelopment, and the solid waste processing unit on Millers Road.

  • The Commissioner instructed officials to ensure uninterrupted LPG supply to the Indira Community Kitchen in Vasanth Nagar, which currently prepares and supplies food to 14 Indira Canteens.
  • Authorities were directed to ensure that food supply operations continue without disruption by maintaining proper LPG availability and kitchen operations.
  • MG Road resurfacing work is underway from Trinity Circle to Mahatma Gandhi Park covering 2.2 km (4.4 km including both carriageways).
  • About 1.2 km (2.4 km including both sides) between Mahatma Gandhi Park and Brigade Road has already received the first asphalt layer.
  • Asphalt work is being carried out at night to avoid traffic disruption, while side drains are being cleaned during daytime.
  • Officials have been instructed to complete the road works within 15 days.
  • Mahatma Gandhi Park redevelopment is being undertaken at a cost of ₹4 crore.

A dedicated artist performance stage

  • A cottage facility for library or museum purposes
  • Additional park infrastructure improvements.
  • The second phase solid waste processing unit on Millers Road in Shivajinagar, being developed by Bengaluru Solid Waste Management Limited, is nearly complete.
  • Remaining works must be completed before April 15.
  • The Johnson Market in Shivajinagar, spread across 24,000 sq. meters, is currently in a dilapidated condition.
  • Engineers have been directed to prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR) to redevelop the market after demolishing the existing structure.
