Gram Panchayat OC/CC Relaxation Expanded to 2,400 sq. ft. + 20% Additional Area

The Karnataka Government has issued a clarification dated 09 June 2026 (RDPR 856 GPA 2025) expanding the relaxation from mandatory Occupancy Certificate (OC) and Completion Certificate (CC) requirements for certain completed buildings in Gram Panchayat areas. The relaxation limit has been increased from 1,200 sq. ft. to 2,400 sq. ft. plus an additional 20% area, subject to prescribed conditions.

• Earlier OC/CC relaxation limit of 1,200 sq. ft. has been expanded to 2,400 sq. ft. + 20% additional area.

• Applicable to eligible buildings constructed under:

Single-site approvals, or

• Approved layouts within Gram Panchayat limits.

• Relaxation provisions also cover:

Buildings up to G+3 floors.

• Buildings with stilt parking up to stilt + 4 floors, subject to eligibility.

• Applicants are required to pay the prescribed compounding or regularisation fee.

• Applications seeking such relaxation must have been submitted on or before 31 May 2026.

• The clarification has been circulated to Zilla Panchayats, Taluk Panchayats and Gram Panchayat authorities for implementation.
