Get All Children Under Five Vaccinated Against Polio, Appeals Chief Minister D K Shivakumar

Chief Minister D K Shivakumar has appealed to parents across Karnataka to ensure that all children below the age of five receive the Pulse Polio vaccine. Launching the statewide immunisation drive, he said protecting children’s health is essential for building a healthy family, state, and nation.

Key Details:

• The Karnataka government aims to administer the Pulse Polio vaccine to 60,84,911 children under the age of five.

• The vaccination drive is being carried out with the support of:

1,14,213 vaccination personnel

• 36,686 vaccination centres

• 988 mobile vaccination centres

• 2,125 transit vaccination points

• Several non-governmental organisations (NGOs) are supporting the statewide campaign.

• The Chief Minister launched the programme at his residence in Sadashivanagar.

• He highlighted India’s journey to becoming a polio-free country through sustained immunisation efforts.

• The Chief Minister also stated that Karnataka’s Health and Medical Education departments continue to strengthen healthcare delivery and produce thousands of doctors and healthcare professionals annually.
