GBA Directs Corporations to Procure Pothole Repair Machines

The Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) has directed all five city corporations to procure dedicated pothole-filling machines and accelerate key civic works including road restoration, desilting, and traffic enforcement.

Key Details:

• Chief Commissioner Maheshwar Rao instructed each city corporation under GBA to procure one pothole-filling machine.

• Immediate repair of potholes and restoration of roads cut by various departments has been mandated.

• Road cutting permissions must be processed through the MARCS software system.

• Corporations can recover repair costs from agencies that fail to restore roads after work completion.

• GAIL Gas road-cutting applications via MARCS must be approved promptly, with strict timelines for restoration.

• Towing operations to remove long-abandoned vehicles will begin immediately.

• Traffic police directed to enforce parking regulations on major and white-topping roads.

• Desilting of stormwater and roadside drains to be expedited ahead of the monsoon.

• Joint inspection and planning ordered for ongoing infrastructure works at Hebbal Junction.

• BWSSB instructed to prevent sewage inflow into the K-100 water channel.
