Bengaluru North City Corporation (BNCC) has warned citizens against unauthorized websites and intermediaries charging excess fees for crematorium slot bookings. A cyber crime case has been registered, and investigations are underway against those involved in collecting unauthorized payments.

• BNCC operates two electric crematoriums for public use:

Chirashanthidhama Electric Crematorium, Hebbal Kempapura

• Muktidhama Electric Crematorium, Medi Agrahara

• The Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) has fixed the official cremation fee at ₹250 only for services at these electric crematoriums.

• BNCC has identified unauthorized websites and intermediaries allegedly:

Offering crematorium slot booking services.

• Charging citizens amounts above the approved fee.

• Misleading the public regarding official booking procedures.

• A complaint has been filed with the Cyber Crime Police Station, North-East Division, Yelahanka.
