Formulate Scientific Plan for Smooth Water Flow in Vrushabhavathi Valley: BWCC Commissioner

Bengaluru West City Corporation (BWCC) Commissioner Dr. Rajendra K.V. directed officials to prepare a scientific action plan for smooth rainwater flow in the Vrushabhavathi Valley and complete desilting, drainage, and road works before the monsoon season.

Key Details:

• BWCC Commissioner Dr. Rajendra K.V. inspected multiple locations in the Vijayanagar division on May 7.

• Officials were instructed to immediately clear silt and waste near the Vrushabhavathi Valley at Gaali Anjaneya Temple Ward.

• Directions were issued to maintain continuous cleaning operations to prevent flooding during the monsoon.

• Measures were ordered to stop waste dumping into the valley area.

• Desilting work behind the Kavika factory was reviewed, with instructions to complete the work quickly before heavy rains.

• Additional cleaning teams and machinery may be deployed at:

Gaali Anjaneya Temple area

• Kavika surroundings

• Nayandahalli Junction

• Temporary catchment pits and submersible water pump systems will be arranged to prevent waterlogging near Gaali Anjaneya Temple.

• Stormwater drain works under the National Disaster Response Management Fund (NDRMF) project were directed to be completed before the onset of monsoon.

• The commissioner also reviewed milling and asphalt work on the Mysuru Road Nayandahalli Flyover and instructed officials to maintain quality and public safety standards.

• Officials were directed to accelerate asphalt works across major roads within BWCC limits.
