Final Warning Issued to Census–2027 Staff in East Corporation

Bengaluru East City Corporation has issued a final warning to all appointed enumerators and supervisors for Census–2027 to report to duty immediately. Disciplinary and legal action will be taken against those who fail to comply.

• Total appointed staff: 3,373 Enumerators and 557 Supervisors

• Training conducted in two phases: 06 April 2026 to 14 April 2026

• Show-cause notices already issued to those absent for training

• Staff must report to assigned census blocks and supervisory circles without delay

• Absence from duty will attract action under Section 11 of the Census Act, 1948

Penalties for Non-Compliance:

• Fine up to ₹1,000

• Imprisonment up to 3 years

• Period of absence marked as Dies-Non

• Departmental disciplinary action

• Legal case may be registered if required
