Fallen Tree Clearance Accelerated Across Central City Corporation After Storm

The Bengaluru Central City Corporation has expedited the removal of fallen trees and branches caused by recent heavy rains and strong winds, with most clearance work already completed.

• Heavy rain and hailstorm on April 29 led to widespread tree and branch falls Total impact recorded:

136 fallen trees

• 257 fallen branches

• Clearance status:

All 136 trees removed

• 242 branches cleared

• Remaining clearance work in progress

• Daily operations underway to restore road and pedestrian movement

• Forest Division executing work on a priority basis

• Action also initiated based on inputs from the Traffic Police Department

• Joint inspections planned to identify:

Dry

• Dangerous

• Structurally weak trees

• Preventive removal to be undertaken ahead of monsoon
