Complete Okalipuram Eight-Lane Corridor Underpass Works Within 25 Days

Chief Commissioner Maheshwar Rao has directed officials to complete pending works beneath the Chennai railway line on the Okalipuram Eight-Lane Corridor within 25 days. During inspections across Bengaluru Central City Corporation and West City Corporation areas, officials were also instructed to expedite road infrastructure, drainage, white-topping, and monsoon preparedness works.

Okalipuram Eight-Lane Corridor Works

• Railway authorities have completed two box-pushing structures beneath the Chennai railway line.

• Officials were directed to complete the connecting road from Majestic to Rajajinagar through one of the box sections within 25 days.

• Additional works instructed for immediate completion:

Connecting road towards the railway station

• 1,200 mm diameter stormwater drain

• 63-metre retaining wall

• Pedestrian footpaths

• A new pedestrian foot overbridge is also planned at the location.

Madhavanagar Railway Underpass

• Officials were instructed to:

Regularly clean drainage gratings

• Conduct desilting beneath gratings and nearby drains

• Prevent waterlogging during the monsoon

• Action was ordered against a building allegedly violating approved plans.

• Removal of construction debris and tree waste from pedestrian pathways was directed.

• Tree branches obstructing road movement are to be trimmed.

• Departments were instructed to ensure proper restoration after infrastructure and road works.

Dr. Rajkumar Road White-Topping

• White-topping work is ongoing on the 1.8 km stretch from Navrang to Star Bazaar Signal.

• One side of the road is expected to open by the end of July.

• Entire project completion target:

End of October

Malleswaram 8th Main Road Works

• White-topping work on the 800-metre stretch is around 60% complete.

• Pending side drain and footpath works are to be expedited.

Chitrapur Cross Road Project

• The 425-metre white-topping work from Chitrapur Cross to 18th Cross Road has been completed.

• Officials were instructed to maintain the completed stretch properly.
