Commissioner Reviews Electoral Roll Revision Work in Bengaluru West City Corporation

Bengaluru West City Corporation Commissioner Dr. Rajendra K.V. has directed Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and supervisors to expedite the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral roll. During a review meeting held on July 19, he instructed officials to complete the distribution, collection, and digitization of enumeration forms with 100% coverage and intensify public awareness efforts.

Key Details:

  • Commissioner Dr. Rajendra K.V. chaired a meeting with BLO Supervisors at the Revenue Officers’ offices of Mahalakshmi Layout, Rajarajeshwarinagar, and Dasarahalli divisions.
  • Officials were instructed to complete the distribution of pre-printed enumeration forms by the following evening and ensure full completion of the exercise.
  • BLOs have been directed to visit every voter address, distribute forms, and update the ASD (Absent, Shifted, Dead) list during house visits.
  • Voters who have shifted residence were advised to submit Form-6 to update their address and retain voting eligibility.
  • Information on untraceable voters must be reported to the respective Ward Officer.
  • Supervisors were instructed to closely monitor BLO activities and ensure all officials understand and follow the prescribed procedures.
  • The Commissioner directed officials to create widespread public awareness on the importance of returning enumeration forms and applying through Form-6 where necessary.
  • Enumeration forms must be collected for digitization, with arrangements to be made at Voter Facilitation Centres (VFCs).
  • Officials were asked to inform voters that delays in returning forms could delay digitization and result in names being omitted from the draft electoral roll, although eligible voters can still seek inclusion through Form-6.
  • The administration may utilize students and marshals to assist in collecting enumeration forms.
  • Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs) and Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) have been directed to monitor progress regularly.
  • Political parties and Booth Level Agents (BLAs) will also be engaged to spread awareness among voters.
