Commissioner Reviews Electoral Roll Revision Preparations in Bengaluru West City Corporation

Bengaluru West City Corporation (BWCC) Commissioner Dr. Rajendra K.V. conducted a review meeting with revenue officials and election staff regarding the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls and upcoming election-related works. The meeting was held on May 18 at BWSSB Suvarna Bhavana, Malleshwaram.

Key Details:

• The meeting focused on preparations for SIR Phase-III as directed by the Election Commission of India.

• Commissioner Dr. Rajendra K.V. instructed officials to begin preparations with full readiness ahead of the June 20 commencement of SIR Phase-III works.

• Officials were also directed to prepare systematically for the upcoming Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) elections.

Major Directions Issued

• Electoral Registration Officers (EROs), Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs), and Booth Level Officers (BLOs) must inspect polling stations in advance.

• BLO Supervisors were instructed to ensure proper deployment and training of BLOs where required.

• Revenue officers were asked to assess available staff strength for SIR work across assembly constituencies.

• Polling station supervisors must maintain coordination with BLOs for smooth execution of election-related works.

• Revenue Officers were directed to balance Khata-related works and SIR responsibilities while also monitoring Khata Melas.

• Electoral roll maintenance must strictly follow Election Commission guidelines.

• Officials were instructed to ensure there are no lapses during the SIR process.
