Commissioner Inspects Civic Issues in Gurappanapalya Ward

The Commissioner of the Bengaluru South City Corporation, K. N. Ramesh, conducted a field inspection in Arasu Colony and Gurappanapalya Ward on June 24, 2026, reviewing civic infrastructure, sanitation, drainage, road conditions, and encroachments. Officials were directed to take immediate corrective measures to improve public safety and civic services.

  • Commissioner K. N. Ramesh inspected Arasu Colony and Gurappanapalya Ward under Jayanagar.
  • Officials were instructed to remove houses encroaching on footpaths along 36th Cross in Arasu Colony to restore pedestrian access. Residents requested suitable rehabilitation arrangements before any eviction.
  • Daily solid waste clearance was ordered in the settlement behind Asara Hospital on Bannerghatta Main Road, along with the immediate removal of construction debris from roadside areas.
  • Authorities were directed to clear garbage accumulated near the road leading to Ayyappa Temple and in front of an electrical transformer in Gurappanapalya Ward.
  • Road potholes on Bannerghatta Main Road are to be repaired, and the ongoing stormwater drain work near Sobha Magnolia Apartment is to be completed using scientific engineering practices to ensure proper rainwater flow.
  • Illegal roadside parking in front of Sobha Magnolia Apartment was also ordered to be removed.
  • Following complaints from local residents about rainwater entering shops on IBM Road 1st Main, Gurappanapalya 1st Cross and nearby streets, officials were instructed to desilt drains and immediately repair an open manhole on 9th Main Road.
  • BWSSB officials were directed to scientifically restore roads where water pipeline works have been completed on Badri Street.
  • Executive Engineer Hariprasad and other corporation officials accompanied the Commissioner during the inspection.
