Commissioner Directs BNCC Departments to Expedite Civic Works

Bengaluru North City Corporation (BNCC) Commissioner Pommala Sunil Kumar chaired a departmental progress review meeting and issued directions to speed up civic works, improve grievance redressal, strengthen cleanliness measures, enhance monsoon preparedness, and ensure strict enforcement against violations.

Key Details:

• Progress of development works across departments was reviewed.

• Officials were instructed to promptly resolve complaints received through the Sahaaya Portal and Phone-in Programme.

• Pending complaints under transferred officers’ logins must be reassigned and closed without delay.

• Special UB100 Campaign drives will be conducted to eliminate garbage black spots.

• Officials were directed to initiate FIRs and legal action against illegal garbage dumping based on evidence.

• Cleaning of arterial and sub-arterial storm water drains must be completed on priority before the monsoon.

• Works under the SIP and CMIDP schemes are to be completed within stipulated timelines.

• Preparations have been ordered for planting more than 25,000 saplings on June 20 and 21.

• Fallen tree branches and roadside debris must be cleared before June 15.

• Authorities were instructed to identify dangerous buildings and dilapidated compound walls.

• Towing operations will be strengthened to curb unauthorized parking.

• Eligible NGOs will be engaged to ensure at least 40 Animal Birth Control (ABC) surgeries are conducted daily.

• The Town Planning Department has been directed to act against building plan violations.

• Park and green space maintenance will be improved.
