Chief Minister D K Shivakumar on June 28 laid the foundation stone for a 2.5-km toll-free twin three-lane tunnel road between Mekhri Circle and Hebbal Junction. The project, being implemented by the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA), is aimed at reducing traffic congestion and improving travel across north Bengaluru.

- According to the Chief Minister, the tunnel projects are intended to reduce travel time and improve connectivity across the city.
