BSCC Issues Strict Directions on Waste Management in Padmanabanagar

Bengaluru South City Corporation Commissioner K.N. Ramesh and Padmanabanagar MLA R. Ashoka have announced strict enforcement measures to address solid waste management issues across wards in the constituency. Contractors have been directed to ensure full deployment of waste collection vehicles, improve daily door-to-door collection, and eliminate garbage black spots within one week.

• A public meeting on solid waste management was held at the Padmanabanagar playground.

• The meeting was chaired by MLA R. Ashoka and attended by Commissioner K.N. Ramesh, BSWML officials, contractors, waste collection auto drivers, and residents.

New Directions Issued

Mandatory Auto Deployment

• Every ward must have the designated number of waste collection autos.

• Garbage collection must take place daily between 6:00 AM and 9:00 AM.

• Autos must visit every household and record attendance at residents’ doorsteps.

• Contact numbers of both the auto driver and contractor must be displayed on every vehicle.

• Volunteer Monitoring:

Citizens will be deployed as volunteers to monitor waste collection vehicle movement.

• Daily attendance records of autos will be submitted to the MLA’s office for verification.

• Contractor Penalties:

Contractors must deploy the full number of vehicles specified in their agreements.

• Officials have been instructed to deduct payments from contractors operating fewer vehicles than required.

• Blacklisting Warning:

Contractors have been given a one-week deadline to resolve garbage-related complaints.

• Continued public complaints after the deadline may result in blacklisting of contractors.
