BNCC Reviews CMIDP & SIP Works, Monsoon Preparedness

The Bengaluru North City Corporation (BNCC) Commissioner Mr. Pommala Sunil Kumar has directed contractors and officials to accelerate the completion of development works being undertaken under the CMIDP and SIP grant schemes. The review meeting also focused on monsoon preparedness, road maintenance, drain cleaning, and pothole closure across the corporation limits.

• BNCC Commissioner Mr. Pommala Sunil Kumar chaired a review meeting on CMIDP and SIP-funded development works.

• Contractors raised concerns regarding changes in bitumen rates and the Schedule of Rates (SoR), which were clarified by officials.

• Priority was given to closing potholes across the corporation limits to improve public safety and mobility.

Monsoon Preparedness Measures

The review covered:

• Waterlogging-prone locations

• Storm water drain cleaning and maintenance

• Road cleaning operations

• Deployment of sweeping machines

• Debris clearance

• On-street and off-street parking management

• Progress of skywalk tenders

To address emergency monsoon-related issues:

• ₹25 lakh has been allocated per constituency from the Commissioner’s Discretionary Fund.

• Officials were instructed to utilize the funds effectively wherever required.

Road Maintenance Directions

• Boundary signboards marking BNCC limits will be installed on roads within the corporation jurisdiction.

• Officials were directed to conduct a comprehensive survey of all 100 Feet Roads.

• Immediate action was ordered to ensure no potholes remain on these roads.
