BNCC Launches Special Drive Against 223 Abandoned Vehicles Across North Bengaluru

The Bengaluru North City Corporation (BNCC), in coordination with the Bengaluru Traffic Police, has launched a special drive to remove abandoned vehicles from public roads, footpaths, and other public spaces. Action has been initiated against 223 identified vehicles across multiple divisions.

Key Details:

• BNCC is conducting the drive under the directions of Greater Bengaluru Development Minister Shri Krishna Byre Gowda and the guidance of BNCC Commissioner Shri Pommala Sunil Kumar.

• A total of 223 abandoned vehicles have been identified for action.

• 82 vehicles have been served notices/stickers and completed mahazar proceedings.

• 11 vehicles were not found during the mahazar process.

• Mahazar proceedings for the remaining 130 vehicles are currently underway.

Division-wise Progress

• Vidyaranyapura Division: Mahazar completed for all 15 identified vehicles.

• Byatarayanapura Division: Mahazar completed for 7 of 15 vehicles; 8 vehicles were not found.

• Pulakeshinagar Division: Mahazar completed for 9 of 59 vehicles; proceedings for 50 vehicles are ongoing.

• Sarvagnanagar Division: Mahazar completed for 9 of 53 vehicles; proceedings for 44 vehicles are ongoing.

• Yelahanka Division: Mahazar completed for all 9 identified vehicles.

• Dasarahalli Division: Mahazar completed for 4 of 15 vehicles. Eleven vehicles (8 under Yeshwanthpur Traffic Police limits and 3 under Chikkabanavara Traffic Police limits) were not found, and operations in the division have concluded.

• Hebbal Division: Of 57 identified vehicles, 29 have undergone stickering and mahazar proceedings, while action on the remaining 28 vehicles is in progress.

BNCC has appealed to residents not to leave vehicles abandoned on roadsides, footpaths, or public spaces and to cooperate with the ongoing enforcement drive.
