BNCC Clears 2.9 km of Footpath Encroachments Across Vidyaranyapura and Dasarahalli
BNCC continued its footpath encroachment clearance drive, covering 2.9 km across Vidyaranyapura and Dasarahalli divisions. The operation removed various encroachments and cleared 56 tonnes of debris to improve pedestrian safety.

According to a BNCC press release, the drive was carried out under the direction of Greater Bengaluru Development Minister Krishna Byre Gowda and the guidance of Pommala Sunil Kumar, Commissioner, Bengaluru North City Corporation.
Areas Covered
The encroachment removal drive covered the following locations:
- Vidyaranyapura Division: 11th Main, from Vidyaranyapura Bus Stop to Durgaparameshwari Temple - 0.40 km
- Dasarahalli Division: Bagalagunte Main Road, from Bagalagunte Arch to Cantonment Factory (NH-4) - 2.50 km
Together, the operations resulted in the clearance of 2.90 km of footpaths.
Encroachments Removed
During the drive, civic teams removed several types of obstructions, including:
- 1 shop/petty shop
- 3 pushcarts
- 17 sheets, canopies and roof projections
- 18 steps and ramps
- 25 advertisement boards and name boards
- 1 temporary shed
The operation also cleared 56 tonnes of construction debris, soil and dust from the affected areas.
Resources Deployed
BNCC deployed the following resources for the clearance drive:
- 2 JCBs
- 7 tractors
- 1 tipper
- 1 other vehicle
- 33 staff and workers
The corporation stated that the ongoing encroachment clearance drive is aimed at improving pedestrian accessibility and maintaining obstruction-free public spaces across Bengaluru North.
