BNCC Clears 14 km of Footpaths in Seventh Day of Encroachment Removal Drive
The Bengaluru North City Corporation (BNCC) continued its footpath encroachment clearance drive for the seventh consecutive day on 8 July , removing encroachments along approximately 14 km of footpaths across multiple divisions .

The Bengaluru North City Corporation (BNCC) continued its footpath encroachment clearance drive for the seventh consecutive day on 8 July, removing encroachments along approximately 14 km of footpaths across multiple divisions. The initiative aims to improve pedestrian safety and ensure obstruction-free public walkways.



Key Details:
- Approximately 14 km of footpaths were cleared of encroachments.
- Zone-1 recorded 10.20 km of cleared footpaths across:
Byatarayanapura Constituency
- Vidyaranyapura Ward
- Pulakeshinagar Constituency
- Sarvagnanagar Constituency
- Zone-2 recorded 3.80 km of cleared footpaths across:
Hebbal Constituency
- Dasarahalli Constituency
- The drive was conducted under the directions of Greater Bengaluru Development Minister Shri Krishna Byre Gowda and the guidance of BNCC Commissioner Shri Pommala Sunil Kumar.
Day’s Operational Highlights
- 41 shops and petty shops removed
- 38 push carts removed
- 143 sheets, canopies and projections removed
- 133 steps and ramps removed
- 90 advertisement and name boards removed
- 5 temporary and permanent sheds removed
- Around 112 tonnes of waste, soil and debris cleared
