Bengaluru North City Corporation (BNCC) cleared encroachments from 14.10 km of footpaths across its jurisdiction on the third day of its pedestrian safety drive, conducted in line with High Court directions.
Key Details:
- 14.10 km of footpaths restored for pedestrian use.
- 33 shops/street vendors, 52 pushcarts, 121 canopies, 109 steps/ramps, and 141 unauthorized advertisement boards removed.
- 2 temporary sheds and 46.5 tonnes of waste and debris cleared.
- The operation deployed 7 JCBs, 35 tractors, 3 other machines, and 168 workers.
- BNCC said the encroachment clearance drive will continue across the city to improve pedestrian safety and ensure obstruction-free footpaths.
