BESCOM to Issue Average Electricity Bills for July During Gruha Jyothi Verification

Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited (BESCOM) has announced that consumers will receive average electricity bills for July as regular meter readings will be suspended due to the door-to-door verification of Gruha Jyothi Scheme beneficiaries.

Key Details:

• BESCOM meter readers have been assigned to verify beneficiaries under the Gruha Jyothi Scheme.

• Regular meter readings will not be conducted during the July billing cycle.

• July electricity bills will be calculated based on each consumer’s average electricity consumption over the previous three months.

• Average bills will be delivered only through SMS and email.

• Normal meter readings and billing based on actual consumption will resume from August.

• Any difference between the average bill and actual consumption will be adjusted in subsequent bills after meter readings resume.

• Consumers can continue to pay their bills through all existing payment channels, including BESCOM subdivision cash counters, the BESCOM website, and approved third-party payment applications.
