Bengaluru West City Corporation Commissioner Dr. Rajendra K.V. chaired a progress review meeting with Engineering Department officials regarding CMIDP and CSSIP infrastructure works, monsoon preparedness, stormwater drain desilting, pothole management, lake maintenance, and traffic coordination within the West Corporation limits.

CMIDP works

  • CSSIP infrastructure projects
  • Monsoon precautionary measures
  • Waste management and cleanliness
  • Stormwater drain maintenance
  • Road infrastructure maintenance
  • CMIDP and CSSIP Works
  • The Commissioner directed officials to complete road development works before the onset of monsoon.
  • Instructions were issued to ensure:

Proper lane marking

  • Installation of cat’s eyes
  • Road humps
  • Quality execution following standards and rules
  • Traffic Engineering Cell (TEC)
  • Maintenance-related works under the Traffic Engineering Cell (TEC) are to be handled directly by respective divisions.
  • Skywalk Maintenance
  • Maintenance responsibility of skywalks will be transferred to respective divisions.
  • Stormwater Drain Desilting
  • Officials were instructed to:

Complete desilting of stormwater drains across all roads

  • Conduct drone videography for documentation
  • Certify completion of desilting works, including at Vrishabhavathi Valley
  • Flood Precaution Measures
  • The Technical Vigilance Cell under Commissioner (TVCC Cell) was directed to coordinate with traffic police at flood-prone locations.
  • Officials were instructed to take both administrative and traffic-related precautionary measures.
  • Lake Maintenance
  • Immediate desilting and cleaning measures were ordered for lake inlets to ensure smooth rainwater flow and prevent flooding of nearby houses.
  • Pothole Monitoring
  • Assistant Engineers and Ward Engineers were instructed to identify potholes and drainage-related issues in their jurisdictions and take corrective measures.
  • GBA Special Commissioner Inspection
  • Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) Special Commissioner (FECC) Smt. Sushma Godbole inspected vulnerable locations near:
  • Nayandahalli Bridge
  • Gali Anjaneya Temple Ward
  • She instructed officials to:

Remove silt, debris, muck, and solid waste

  • Complete Deepanjali Nagar lake development works within 10 days
  • Undertake plantation activities around lake boundaries
