Bengaluru West City Corporation Commissioner Dr. Rajendra K.V. conducted an inspection parade to review the readiness of staff, vehicles, machinery, and emergency response systems for monsoon precautionary measures at BGS Stadium, Govindarajanagar, on May 16.

- Public safety during monsoon season
- Equipment and resources inspected included:
Silt tractor teams
- Dewater pumps
- Tree and weed cutting machines
- Shredding machines
- Tractor tippers
- JCBs
- Sweeping machines
- Safety tools such as gloves, gumboots, torches, ropes, and crowbars.
- Commissioner Dr. Rajendra K.V. instructed officials and staff to:
Prevent accidents and loss of life during heavy rains
- Coordinate across departments
- Identify vulnerable locations in advance
- Ensure proper maintenance of disaster response equipment
- Monitor storm water drains, encroachments, debris, and unsafe buildings
- Ward Marshals were directed to:
Report civic issues including waterlogging and unsafe structures
- Coordinate with forest teams and desilting teams
- Maintain communication with Civil Defence teams
- Civil Defence teams were asked to:
Increase citizen participation
- Identify local volunteers at ward level
- Assist in emergency preparedness and response
- Silt and tractor teams were instructed to:
Carry out desilting on major roads
- Maintain route maps and work registers
- Wear reflector jackets during night operations
- Officials were also directed to:
- Monitor construction activity on high-density roads.
- Ensure vacant sites are maintained to prevent mosquito breeding and garbage accumulation
- Provide training to field staff
