Bengaluru West City Corporation conducted a large-scale footpath encroachment clearance drive on 6 July, clearing 14.80 km of encroachments across multiple divisions to improve pedestrian safety and accessibility. The drive was carried out under the directions of the Minister for Greater Bengaluru Development and the Corporation Commissioner.

The clearance drive was undertaken with support from the Traffic Police, Law and Order Police, and other departments.
During the operation, officials removed:
- 19 petty shops
- 24 pushcarts
- 23 AC sheet projections/canopies
- 37 steps and ramps
- 82 advertisement pillars and boards
- 1 temporary/permanent shed
- 11.55 tonnes of construction debris and waste
