Bengaluru East City Corporation Commissioner D.S. Ramesh chaired a review meeting on the proposed stormwater drain conservation and buffer service road project connecting the Bellandur waste weir/outlet to Virginia Mall near Old Airport Road. The meeting focused on land acquisition, stormwater management, infrastructure connectivity, and technical implementation.

- The proposed buffer service road project spans approximately 18 kilometres.
- The project corridor extends from the Bellandur waste weir/outlet to Virginia Mall near Old Airport Road.
- Around 80 properties have been identified for land acquisition within a 2-kilometre stretch.
- Officials stated that nearly 50 percent of the land survey and documentation work has been completed.
- Commissioner D.S. Ramesh directed officials to complete remaining land survey and property identification work within 15 days in coordination with Survey and Revenue Department authorities.

- Officials were instructed to study widening certain stormwater drain stretches up to 30 metres to improve rainwater flow and reduce flooding risks.
- Directions were issued to examine possible violations of buffer zone and setback regulations along the project corridor.
- Joint site inspections were ordered involving B-SMILE, Engineering, Revenue, Land Acquisition, and TDR division officials.
- The Corporation stated that work may initially begin in undisputed land sections to avoid delays caused by legal challenges.
