Bengaluru East Corporation Launches Special Drive to Clear Footpath Encroachments

Bengaluru East City Corporation has launched a special enforcement drive to remove illegal encroachments on footpaths, roadside stretches, and public spaces across multiple divisions under its jurisdiction. The operations are aimed at improving pedestrian safety and reducing traffic congestion.

Key Details:

• The special drive is being carried out under the supervision of Additional Commissioner Lokhande Snehal Sudhakar. Encroachments removed include:

Roadside stalls

• Pushcarts

• Unauthorized parking

• Construction materials

• Shop extensions

• Illegal advertisement boards

• The corporation stated that footpaths are meant for pedestrian movement and should remain obstruction-free.

Deployment in Each Ward

Dedicated teams deployed for the operation include:

• 4 Marshal staff

• 10 Labourers

• 3 Tractors

• 1 JCB machine

Operations are being coordinated by Ward Engineers and Assistant Executive Engineers.
