Chief Commissioner Maheshwar Rao has instructed officials to accelerate the construction of the Bellandur Buffer Road by resolving pending land acquisition issues and expediting the ongoing works. The directions were issued during an inspection of various project sites under the Bengaluru East City Corporation.

- The Bellandur Buffer Road project is progressing in phases, with the first phase covering a 12 km stretch from Marathahalli Ring Road to Varthur Kodi.
- The overall proposed length of the Bellandur Buffer Road is approximately 18 km.
- Officials have been directed to resolve land acquisition issues without delay to ensure timely completion of the project.
- The Chief Commissioner instructed that the required width of the rajakaluve (stormwater drain) be preserved before road construction.
- A survey has identified locations requiring land acquisition, and the Bengaluru East City Corporation has been directed to complete the acquisition process swiftly.


Rajakaluve Widening Near Sakra Hospital
- At Devarabeesanahalli, near Sakra Hospital, the existing stormwater drain is too narrow, contributing to waterlogging during the monsoon.
- Officials have been instructed to conduct a scientific survey, determine the required width, and undertake widening and development of the drain.
Bellandur Lake Bund Road Development
- The Chief Commissioner directed officials to complete the pending Bellandur Lake Bund Road works at the earliest.
