The Bengaluru East City Corporation has completed a special footpath encroachment clearance drive covering approximately 8.8 km across eight divisions. The initiative aims to restore safe, unobstructed pedestrian access by removing unauthorized structures, vendors, advertisement boards, debris, and other obstructions from public footpaths.



Key Details:
- Footpath clearance completed across approximately 8.8 km of major roads.
- Drive conducted under the guidance of Commissioner D.S. Ramesh and in accordance with the directions of the Hon’ble Minister for Bengaluru Development.
- Unauthorized shops, pushcarts, temporary structures, canopies, ramps, staircases, advertisement boards, construction debris, overhead cables, and other encroachments were removed.



Division-wise Highlights
- Doddanekkundi (Ward 43): 1.5 km cleared; shops, pushcarts, stalls, ad boards, cables, and debris removed.
- Kadugodi (Ward 31): 1 km cleared; shops, pushcarts, canopies, staircases, ad boards, and debris removed.
- Whitefield (Ward 38): 1 km cleared; ramps, shops, pushcarts, milk booth, and debris removed.
- Marathahalli (Ward 45): 2.5 km cleared; multiple encroachments, ad boards, and waste removed.
- Horamavu (Ward 2): 900 m footpath restored after removing encroachments and waste.
- HAL Division: 1.3 km cleared; most encroachments removed voluntarily after notices.
- K.R. Pura (Ward 14): 600 m cleared; shops, pushcarts, canopies, ad boards, and debris removed.
- Ramamurthy Nagar (Ward 15): 2 km cleared; banners and pushcarts removed, remaining encroachments cleared voluntarily.
