Bengaluru Central City Corporation has announced a campaign to promote the adoption of community dogs, along with strengthening vaccination and animal management efforts.



Key Details:
- Additional Commissioner (Development) Daljit Kumar directed officials to launch an adoption campaign for community dogs.
- The initiative will be implemented within Bengaluru Central City Corporation limits.
Dogs must undergo:
Proper health check-ups
- Anti-Rabies Vaccination (ARV)
- Necessary medical care before adoption
- Authorities were instructed to follow Supreme Court of India guidelines on community dog management.
- Emphasis placed on:
Animal Birth Control (ABC) programs
- Vaccination drives
- Cleanliness must be maintained at the ABC centre located within the Animal Husbandry Super Specialty Hospital premises.
- Meeting included Animal Husbandry officials and NGO representatives including SPCA.
