Bengaluru Central City Directs 100% Completion of ABC and Anti-Rabies Vaccination for Community Dogs

Bengaluru Central City Corporation Commissioner Jagadeesh G. has instructed officials to complete 100% coverage of the Animal Birth Control (ABC) programme and Anti-Rabies Vaccination (ARV) for community dogs across the corporation limits. The programme has currently achieved 80% progress.

Key Details:

• Commissioner Jagadeesh G. chaired a review meeting with officials from the Animal Husbandry Department to assess the progress of the Animal Birth Control (ABC) and Anti-Rabies Vaccination (ARV) programme.

• Officials were directed to ensure 100% completion of both the sterilisation and vaccination programme for community dogs within the Bengaluru Central City Corporation limits.

• According to the department, 80% of the programme has been completed.

• The Commissioner instructed officials to complete the remaining 20% of sterilisation and anti-rabies vaccination at the earliest.

• The review meeting was attended by Joint Commissioner Hemanth Sharan, Animal Husbandry Department officials including HOD Veena, Basavaraj Biradar, Gautham, and representatives from animal welfare organisations and NGOs.
