Bannerghatta Main Road Development and Infrastructure Works Announced

Bengaluru South City Corporation Commissioner K.N. Ramesh has announced immediate and long-term infrastructure measures for Bannerghatta Main Road, including resurfacing, ongoing road works, drainage improvements, and proposed traffic decongestion projects.

• Immediate Road Resurfacing

Overlay work to begin on damaged stretches from Dairy Circle to Kalena Agrahara

• ₹12.50 crore allocated by BMRCL for maintenance

• Work to be taken up without delay using available funds

• Comprehensive Road Development Plan

Stretch: Hosur Road to Koli Farm Junction

• DPR (Detailed Project Report) under preparation by BSMILE

• Commissioner directed faster completion of DPR

• Ongoing Road Work (CMIDP)

3.65 km stretch from Kalena Agrahara to Koli Farm

• Project cost: ₹11.50 crore

• Instructions issued for immediate completion with quality checks

• Signal-Free Junction Proposal

Location: Vega City Mall Junction

• Proposal includes underpass and flyover

• DPR and cost estimates to be prepared

• Stormwater Drain Improvements

Focus area: Near IIM Bangalore

• Immediate desilting and flow management ordered

• Aim: Prevent waterlogging and flooding

• Inspection of Existing Road Work

2.2 km stretch from Brigade Millennium Apartment (Puttenahalli) to B.K. Circle

• Work under CMIDP reviewed and found satisfactory

• Land Development Near Apollo Hospital

• Corporation-owned land to be developed

• Proposed uses:

• Commercial building for revenue generation
