Auction Proceedings Announced for 81 Tax-Default Properties in North City Corporation

The North City Corporation will conduct an auction for 81 properties with pending property tax arrears. The auction is scheduled to be held on March 13 at Yelahanka Mini Vidhana Soudha.

Key Details:

• North City Corporation Commissioner Pommala Sunil Kumar announced auction proceedings for property tax default cases.

• A total of 81 properties within the corporation limits have significant pending property tax dues.

Property Tax Arrears Details:

• Zone-1:

47 properties

• Pending tax: ₹1,32,18,421

• Zone-2:

34 properties

• Pending tax: ₹62,18,279

• Total Arrears:

₹1,94,36,700 from 81 properties

Legal Provisions:

• Under the Greater Bengaluru Governance Act, 2025, all property owners must pay property tax annually.

• For non-payment, action is taken under the Property Tax Assessment, Collection and Administration Rules, 2024.

Notices Issued to Defaulters:

• Show-cause notices and demand notices have been issued.

• Defaulters were also notified through:

Mobile messages

• Personal visits

• Notices affixed at the respective properties.

Previous Auction Attempt:

• The properties were earlier brought for auction on March 6, 2026, but no bidders participated.

• The properties were temporarily retained under the corporation.

• The auction will be conducted in the presence of the Joint Commissioners of Zone-1 and Zone-2.

• If the pending property tax is cleared before the auction, the property will be removed from the auction list.

• Property owners may also submit objections to the concerned Joint Commissioner’s office before the auction.
