The Bengaluru East City Corporation‘s “Adopt Me – Second Innings” stray dog adoption campaign received an encouraging response from the public. The initiative aims to promote animal welfare by helping rescued, abandoned, accident-injured, and specially-abled Indian dogs find permanent homes while creating awareness about responsible pet ownership.

Key Details:
- More than 40 rescued Indian dogs were brought for adoption by 17 animal rescuers.
- The rescued dogs included victims of animal cruelty as well as disabled and specially-abled dogs requiring special care.
- All dogs underwent veterinary treatment, rehabilitation, and health checks before being made available for adoption.
- Four dogs were adopted during the event, while the adoption process for four more dogs is in its final stage.
- Due to heavy rain affecting attendance, the corporation will continue the adoption drive through a virtual adoption campaign during the week.
