Dr. Naveen Kumar Raju, Additional Commissioner of the Bengaluru South Municipal Corporation, inspected the waste transfer station at Vittasandra village and directed officials to conduct a survey of the surrounding government land, strengthen measures against illegal waste dumping, and expedite plans for a compost center.



Key Details:
- The inspection was conducted at the Palike waste transfer station in Vittasandra village, Begur Hobli.
- Officials informed that approximately 65 acres of government land is available in the area.
- Around 4 acres is proposed to be earmarked for the waste transfer station.
- The Additional Commissioner directed officials to:
Conduct an immediate survey of the entire government land.
- Demarcate boundaries for the identified area.
- During the visit, unauthorized dumping of silt and commercial waste was observed around the site.
- Officials were instructed to:
Arrange security measures to prevent unauthorized entry.
- Take strict action against illegal dumping activities.
- Plans are being prepared to establish a well-equipped compost center at the location.
- Approximately 2 acres of land is proposed for the composting facility.
- Officials were directed to take urgent steps toward the development of the compost center.
