Bengaluru South City Corporation has cleared approximately 10.93 km of encroachments from footpaths across multiple wards as part of an intensified drive to improve pedestrian safety .

Bengaluru South City Corporation has cleared approximately 10.93 km of encroachments from footpaths across multiple wards as part of an intensified drive to improve pedestrian safety. The operation was carried out under the directions of Greater Bengaluru Development Minister Krishna Byre Gowda and supervised by Additional Commissioner Dr. Naveen Kumar Raju.



Key Details:
- Around 10.93 km of encroached footpaths were cleared across several Assembly constituencies within Bengaluru South City Corporation.
- Illegal structures including shop extensions, staircases, temporary sheds, and roadside commercial encroachments were removed using JCB machinery.
- The drive aims to ensure safe and unobstructed pedestrian movement on major roads.



Major Locations Covered
- Jayanagar Constituency
Ward 9 – NAL Layout: Footpath cleared along 26th Main Road between 39th Cross and 30th Cross (0.75 km).
- Ward 11 – Jayanagar East: Included in the same stretch along 26th Main Road.
- Ward 14 – J.P. Nagar: Approximately 2.0 km of encroachments removed from the Outer Ring Road stretch between Vega City Mall on Bannerghatta Road and Puttenahalli Junction under the CSSIP Package-3 project.
- Bangalore South Constituency
Ward 52 – Talagattapura: 1.70 km of footpath cleared along Holiday Village Road from Kanakapura Road to NICE Road.
- Ward 48 – Vasantapura: 2.10 km stretch cleared between Kanakapura Road and Pipeline Road.
- Ward 37 – Yelenahalli: 1.30 km of encroachments removed along DLF Main Road up to D-Mart.
- Padmanabhanagar Constituency
Ward 2 – Kadirena Halli: 0.58 km of illegal sheds and shopfront encroachments removed from the Outer Ring Road stretch between Kadirena Halli Cross Bus Stop and Bipin Rawat Park Signal.
- Bommanahalli Constituency
Ward 58 – Arakere: Around 0.50 km of footpath cleared near Sai Baba Temple on Double Road.
- Ward 70 – Iblur: Approximately 2.0 km of footpaths cleared along both sides of Iblur Road between HSR Layout Police Station and SBI Bank on 17th Cross.
