Use of Gobbler Smart Waste Collection Machine Begins on Trial Basis in CBD Roads

The Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) has initiated a trial deployment of the Gobbler smart waste collection machine on major roads across Bengaluru to improve road cleanliness using smart technology. The demonstration was conducted on Commercial Street Road in Shivajinagar division.

Key Details:

• Chief Commissioner Maheshwar Rao directed officials to deploy the Gobbler machine on a trial basis on major roads within GBA limits.

• The demonstration took place on Commercial Street Road under Shivajinagar constituency in Bengaluru Central City Corporation.

• Officials stated that the machine’s performance report will determine future large-scale deployment across city corporations.

• The Gobbler machine is battery-operated and can run for up to 8 hours after 3 hours of charging.

• The machine is equipped with:

• 240-litre waste collection container

• Dust filter system

• Joystick-operated waste collection controls

• LED lighting for night operations

• Reverse warning alarm

• Fire safety equipment

• The machine can collect:

Dust

• Plastic waste

• Paper

• Dry leaves

• Metal and plastic bottles

• Roadside debris

• It also includes a 12-litre water storage and pressure pipe cleaning system.
