Bengaluru South City Corporation conducted a public phone-in programme on June 20 to address citizens’ queries regarding the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. Additional Commissioner Dr. M. Rachappa interacted with residents and explained the schedule and procedures for voter list revision.



Key Details:
- The phone-in programme was held from 4 pm to 5 pm.
- Additional Commissioner Dr. M. Rachappa answered more than 10 calls from citizens.
- Residents from areas including Bapujinagar and Moodalapalya raised queries related to voter list discrepancies.
- Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will conduct mandatory door-to-door verification of voters.
- New eligible voters will be added to the rolls.
- Duplicate, shifted, deceased and ineligible voters will be removed after verification.
Electoral Roll Revision Schedule
- June 30 – July 29: Door-to-door survey by Booth Level Officers.
- Citizens are required to submit voter registration forms and relevant documents during the survey.
- August 5: Publication of the draft electoral roll.
- August 5 – September 4: Period for filing claims and objections.
- October 3: Disposal of claims and objections.
- October 7: Publication of the final electoral roll.
