A three-day Public Health Emergency and Disaster Management–Professional Development Programme (PHEDM-PDP) Tier-III Training (Batch-1) was conducted in Bengaluru from 17 to 19 June 2026 for officials from Bengaluru Division. The programme covered nine districts and five municipal corporations and marked the first of four planned batches for Karnataka.

- Training was organised jointly by the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM), Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Karnataka, and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)-India.
- The programme took place in Bengaluru, Karnataka, from 17–19 June 2026.
- It covered nine districts and five municipal corporations in Bengaluru Division.
- Dr. Avinash Menon Rajendran, IAS, Mission Director of the National Health Mission, Karnataka, presided over the inaugural session.
- Senior officials from the Government of Karnataka, NCDC and CDC-India participated in the inaugural event.
- The training focused on strengthening district-level preparedness through technical sessions, quizzes, group activities, case studies and simulation exercises.
- A total of 30 participants, including nine mentors and 21 mentees from health, disaster management and animal husbandry departments, attended the programme.
