NammaWard Update | NBC 2026 Notified – Gazette & Standards Document Released

The Bureau of Indian Standards has officially notified the National Building Construction Standards, 2026 (SP 7:2026)through the Gazette of India dated 30 April 2026. The same replaces the earlier National Building Code, 2016, with immediate effect.

Both the Gazette Notification and the detailed Standards Document are being made available along with this update for reference.

The notification confirms that:

• SP 7:2026 comes into force from 30 April 2026.

• SP 7:2016 stands withdrawn on the same date.

• The new code will serve as the reference framework for building design, construction, and safety norms across India.
