Major Ejipura Flyover Works Expected to Open by October 2026

The Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) has announced that the major structural works of the Ejipura–Kendriya Sadan Flyover are expected to be completed and opened for traffic by the end of October 2026. Officials stated that long-pending construction obstacles near St. John’s Hospital were resolved earlier this year, accelerating project progress.

• The Ejipura–Kendriya Sadan Flyover project is being executed within the Bengaluru South City Corporation limits under the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA).

• Chief Engineer Dr. Raghavendra Prasad stated that the main flyover structure is expected to be completed by October 2026.

• The project faced delays due to contractor-related issues and land acquisition challenges near St. John’s Hospital.

• The pending “Portal Frame” issue near St. John’s Hospital was resolved in February 2026 after approvals were granted for construction works.

• Remaining ramp works and finishing activities are expected to continue after the main structure is completed.

• Total flyover length: 2.38 km

• Original project cost: ₹203.20 crore

• Total segments planned: 762

• Segments cast so far: 728

• Remaining installation work: 15 spans

Foundation Works:

• All piles, pile caps, and pier construction have been completed.

Portal Beam Works:

• Staging works for the portal beam near St. John’s Hospital are currently in progress.

Land Acquisition:

• Acquisition and transfer procedures are underway for approximately 5,998.6 sq.m of private and government land, including land belonging to St. John’s.
